Here’s a toast to the people who are content to love, without needing to be loved in return.
There’s a sort of…I can sort of relate, but in the opposite way.
I admire unrequited love because of a person’s determination and devotion to continue on loving someone even without reward — it just shows the purity of their love.
In my life, though, too much of shallow romance is shoved into my face that it’s impossible to see any innocence in the love I am being forced to endure.
I admit, though, that I have loved. But instead of tainting the purity of that love, I was happily unrequited.
I will not burden anyone with the responsibility of returning my affections, and I refuse to offer only my intangible human emotions for something far more precious; that would be greedy of me.
Such is life.
I really should stop reading these angst fics.
